Beaver Sleepover (October 2017)
Posted on 27 October 2017
Oddly enough, the Beaver’s March Sleepover did not put off the Leaders from arranging another one, so at the end of October we headed off again to Cookridge for an Autumn version! The Saturday was very windy, but this didn’t stop the Beavers from getting stuck into building dens – using the wood that had thoughtfully been piled up for next week’s bonfire festivities. As the nights were drawing in fairly early, the Beavers then headed off for a ‘night walk’ into the ‘enchanted forest’, (more commonly known by its daytime name of Breary Marshes). It proved to be a real struggle getting the tents up for those leaders camping outside, and indeed, the strength of the wind meant that the evening’s campfire was cancelled. The fire was lit the following morning for the marshmallows to be toasted, and after the lengthy job of helping Beavers to pack their bags, we were all able to go home to recover!
