Virtual Camp – 8-10 May 2020
Posted on 10 May 2020
Whilst we can’t camp ‘together’, many of our scouts accepted the challenge of camping at home this weekend!
All Scouts (and by this we mean beavers, cubs, scouts and leaders!) received their instructions and set about building camp! Scouts were challenged to:
- Sleep somewhere different (hopefully outside in a tent, but if not an indoors den was an excellent choice!)
- Cook a camp breakfast favourite – the classic sausage sandwich (complete with a ‘recipe’ from Richard!)
- Build a campfire – real or virtual!
- Complete a 1 mile hike – either doing laps of your garden or out on your daily excercise with your family!
For the hike Scouts were also asked to find sponsors for NHS charities together – our target is £100! Here is the link to the donation page: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/43rdnthldswalk
Head over to our Facebook Page to see fantastic photos of our scouts camping at home. Richard has sent in the two photos below “a photo of my tent (and virtual campfire!) from last night’s virtual Group Camp – and a picture of the top of Otley Chevin, which I have climbed 5 times today (around 1000m) to raise some cash for the Group Challenge to raise some cash for a worthwhile cause at this time!”
